The Shiva Sequences teaches you about the balanced divine masculine energy, which complements the feminine qualities. We generally consider masculine qualities to be associated with ego, power and toughness, but that is not what masculinity is about. When the masculine energy is balanced and integrated, it has the incredible ability to create equanimity and space for others to feel safe to be themselves. A mature masculine expresses compassion, empathy and deep feelings of love and care with ease.

The use of the word “masculine” does not have anything to do with the male gender. Personal ‘wholeness’ can only be achieved when you are connected to both your feminine AND your masculine energies.

Even though the Shiva Sequences are not more for men than women, still, working with these practices might be a wonderful way to include your male partner in your practice. To open up to a shared understanding of the masculine and feminine energies within you both and to perhaps help find a more balanced relationship.
